Planet earth has expeirenced a major catastrophy. A large sheild volcano erupted at 5:26, Wensday,January 28, 2011, the whole human race is wiped out except for our small group. We only survived because we lived very close to the volcano and noticed that it was more active(rumbled more)and escaped. We are now living on a near by mountain in a cave, where there are tons of plants and some animals . We are safe for; now but we will soon need to figure out how we are going to survive on this cave on the top of a mountain.
B. Problem:
How does my small groiup of suvivors work together to create a miniature biosphere to live in until the Earth is able to slowly regernerate?
C. Survival Plan:
We will use our knowledge of the Earth's Crust, mixtures & solutions, heat, & biology to create a survival plan to create a miniature biosphere.
Plan:build on top of mountian everst in a cave
Step 1: Chose a place.
We chose to build our miniature biosphere on the top of a near by mountain in a cave, where thejre is alittle bit of grass and some plants.
Step 2: Design/plan a shelter.
We took metal ,wood and glass from the destruction the volcano made, to make our shelter in the cave. On the outside there is glass so our plants can grow. There is a door to go out so we can hunt and gather any tools we may need. We used the metal to support the cave( make sure it doesnt fall) and the wood to cover the groound sowe do not have to sleep on the dirt ground. We also carved small windows where we put glass, incase it rains and metal to support it.
Step 3: Build a structure.
First, we dug a whole in the side of the mountain. Next, we ..
Step 4: Grow food. We would grow food by adding heat and water to metimorphic rock to break it down to igneous rock which is good for growing food. We have food because on our mountain there was some plants that we could take seeds from and plant.There is also some animals that we hunt and cook over a fire.
Step 5: Clean water.
There is a near by lake where we take wateur. We purifly our water by boiling it and pouring it on a bandana (over acontainer) that one of our group mambers hade when we arrived at our mounntain.
